Carl D. Berry, a former New York State Trooper and U.S. Marine Corp Reservist who served during the Gulf War, received his bachelors in political science from the State University of New York, College at New Paltz and his juris doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Mr. Berry represents a number of companies in general business matters including, commercial transactions, corporate compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing, as well as litigation in state and federal court. He also practices sport and entertainment law providing representation to world class professional athletes, musicians and producers, and television and event production companies.
While at North Carolina Central University, a historically Black University, Mr. Berry served as Class Vice President and Class President. He was a founding member of the law school’s Entertainment & Sports Law Association and served on the school’s Coalition for Battered Women. He was selected by the University’s Chancellor, the Honorable Julius Chambers, to serve on the Select Search Committee for the Law School’s Dean.
Early in his career, Mr. Berry had the opportunity to work in private practice under the tutelage of former Florida Secretary of State the late Jessie J. McCrary, who was the first African American to hold to the post for the State of Florida since reconstruction. During that time Mr. Berry became a Jim K. Batten Fellow and was on the Board of Directors for the Miami Black Archives. Mr. Berry continued his private law practice which included commercial litigation, real property litigation, labor and employment, contract, copyright and sports and entertainment law.
Mr. Berry also worked in sports television, and event promotion, initially, with Don King Productions, Inc. and later Warriors Boxing Promotions, Inc. He has worked on and promoted television programs seen on HBO, Showtime, ESPN, domestic cable and Pay Per View, seen by millions of viewers in 107 countries. He has published articles and text in the area of Federal labor and employment, Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as EEOC law. Mr. Berry is also an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University, teaching sports law for the MBA Sports Administration program and business law for the Barry Kaye College of Business.
Atyria S. Clark, Esq. was born May 25, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri and received her bachelors degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University and was a Goodwin Scholar recipient at Nova Southeastern University where she received her juris doctorate degree. Ms Clark also holds and LL.M. (master of laws) degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University and is licensed in the states of Florida and California to practice law.
Her professional corporation The Law Office of Atyria S. Clark, P.A. has branches in the South Florida and Southern California regions and represents clients in the areas of Domestic Relations law, Immigration, Tax and Sports and Entertainment law. Her professional corporation also has a membership in the law firm of Berry, Clark & Wildman, PLLC.
Ms. Clark is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Santa Monica Bar Association. She is also the President of Astarah, Inc., a developing corporation aimed at providing business services to models, actors, actresses and sports figures and Expedient Tax & Incorporation Service, Inc., a tax preparation service.
Ms. Clark also serves as a member of the California and Florida Bar Associations and is a member of a number of sections of the Florida Bar, including the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law section, the Family Law section and the International Law section. Ms. Clark is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is a member of the National Notary Association as a commissioned notary in the states of Florida and California. Ms. Clark is also licensed to practice law before the United States Tax Court.
While at Wake Forest University, Ms. Clark served as Co-President of the International Students Association and was a member of the Fidele Society (presently the Chi Omega Fraternity). As an attorney, Ms. Clark has worked with the State of Florida as a prosecuting attorney with the Department of Children & Families and is presently a court-appointed defense attorney on the Miami-Dade and Broward County Dependency wheels. She has also worked with a number of major law firms and corporations in Los Angeles, California and Miami, Florida and has served as a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
